Schools in Zambia still not open

In many African countries, the government has decided to reopen all schools from September 7, despite the growing number of Covid-19 cases. Probably because they realize that the damage from the lockdown is terrible for the children than the damage from the virus itself. Unfortunately, this is still not the case in Zambia and we are still waiting for the Zambian government to decide. Let's hope that they too open up schools for all children again. The children have not been to school since March. Unfortunately online schoolwork does not exist in Kamimbi, because the children live in small huts/houses in villages where there is no internet, electricity, or computers. The Liberi school provides home work for all their children, but most schools in the Siavonga district cannot do this because of financial reasons . Let’s hope that Zambia will open the schools again this month! To be continued...
